colitis, obesity and menstrual disorders in women. Basti means the
introduction of herbal preparations in liquid form into the rectum,
just like ‘enema’. Basti, is the most effective treatment
of all 80 kind of vata disorders mentioned in classical texts. |
| |
| There are two types of basties: |
Niruha Basti

doshas, and cures the diseases |
| Anuvasan Basti(Enemas given with
medicated oil ) |

the nose - the nearest exit. Nose is described a gateway of brain-
all the diseases of upper clavicular region are very well treated
by nasya. |
| |
| Nasya can affect the brain and sensory

to relieve pittagenic or blood born diseases. In chronic diseases
– which are not responding to other treatments, Rakta-mokshan
is useful. Several different instruments and process were used in
past for Rakta-mokshan. In present time, it is not so
commonly practiced. |
