Knowledge about Life is Ayurveda. It is not only science of medicine and diseases. It also deals with every aspects of life and that’s why it can be described as “qualitatively holistic science”.Modern science, with its “quantitatively analytical” approach, compliments ayurveda. What teachers of Ayurveda had described in a holistic way, perhaps in different words, different terminology, we are having its confirmation through scientists of modern science now these days.
Mankind is searching for conventional, non-conventional approaches for longevity. Ayurveda is having very clear understanding for longevity. Longevity is not only long life but “healthy long life”, that is ayurvedic approach. Ayurveda understands the importance of detoxification, rejuvenation and time-to-time system check at cellular level to keep the body healthy. For the reason, rules for daily life and seasonal life for various age group are recommended. Plus several herbal / ayurvedic food supplements, formulas and internal as well as external procedures are described at a length in the texts. Moreover we are having mental stress and many psychological pressures to disturb our harmony in the body, which all are responsible for unhealthy body. Ayurvedic knowledge about food and nutrition, digestive capacity and life style are focused on individual body constitution. Balance of mind, body and spirit is the central aspect for health.

The gradual increase of toxic materials (ama, malas etc.) in the body is dosha-aggravating factors, which are responsible for. sickness, impairment of the healthy bodily functions, weaken immune system and acceleration of the aging process.

Panchkarma Treatments


Panchkarma treatments means cleansing, over-oiling, detoxification or rejuvenation of the body at cellular level, and to increase immunity, vitality, efficiency and ojus in the body. Deep reaching cleaning results in deep relaxation of mind and body as well as well beingnes: mentally, spiritually and bodily.

Panch means five and Karma means procedures, so Panchkarma means a set of five major operative procedures. Like all major operative procedures, a set of preliminary detoxification and “Ama” (toxins) reducing methods are prescribed for Panchkarma treatments. These are known as the “Purva Karma”. Similarly a set of post-cleansing procedures is prescribed, which are known as “Paschat Karma”.
